East Sussex, UK. (May 22)

Spent the week exploring the East Sussex coastline from our base at a campsite hidden away in the rolling hills and forests near the village of Crowhurst.

Working from “home”

Over the five days we visited Battle, Bodiam, Hastings, Rye and Eastbourne, explored castles and historic buildings, walked the cliffs from Seven Sisters to Beachy Head and found some great restaurants along the way. The weather was kind with sunny days and an ideal temperatures for walking – well except for a visit to Camber Sands where we were almost blown off our feet. We ended the week with an evening in the “Grapevine” a champagne and jazz bar in Rye, which joins “Chequers” in Battle (for really good pub food and local ale) and “Isabella” in the Old Town at Hastings (for delicious Turkish cuisine) as places we’d recommend. So much history in this little corner of England and so close to home. Worth getting the train too, Crowhurst station is only a short stagger from the campsite – it’s fun walking the paths and lanes in the dark after a few beers in the local towns!

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
