Anglian Water offers a flexible approach, this role offers you the flexibility to work from home, Project Offices and from an Anglian Water office. Your primary location will be Anglian Water's office based in Thorpewood, Peterborough or in our Norwich Hub. As part of the role you will also be expected to visit and work from construction site locations around the region.


Shape the Future of Infrastructure Delivery – Join Us as an ECC Project Manager

As an ECC Project Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering a variety of projects that sit within our AMP8 Capital Investment Programme. In this role, you’ll be driving and enabling our ECC Project Management teams in contract, commercial, and assurance management of NEC PSC contracts (and NEC ECC occasionally) across our Supply Chain (in particular our consultancy frameworks. You’ll provide day-to-day leadership to ECC Project Management teams, ensuring contracts are managed effectively and aligned to best practice, while fostering collaboration and driving continuous improvement.

You’ll also take ownership of developing and embedding robust contract management and assurance processes across our ECC Project Management teams and our consultancy framework, helping to maximise efficiency, deliver value, and exceed customer expectations. Furthermore, you’ll support and develop a team of ECC Project Managers, supporting their growth and ensuring they deliver exceptional outcomes in line with the NEC Competency Framework.

What will you be doing?

  • Contract Management & Administration

    • Lead robust contract management and administration of consultancy framework and NEC contracts.
    • Implement contract management strategies and assurance frameworks.
    • Provide commercial leadership to the teams.
    • Manage change control, resolve contractual issues, and ensure compliance with payment and procurement processes.
    • Act as a key decision-maker within your remit and drive best practice across the supply chain.
  • Performance Management & Project Governance

    • Oversee supply chain frameworks and project performance through reporting and governance activities.
    • Lead performance reviews, manage non-compliance strategies, obtain stakeholder feedback, promote best practices, and ensure PSC and other contracts are drafted, agreed, executed, managed and completed professionally and consistently across the teams and frameworks.

What does it take to be an ECC Project Manager?

We’re looking for a proactive and commercially minded professional who brings energy, enthusiasm, and a collaborative approach to everything they do. You’ll have experience supporting senior team members and guiding junior colleagues, with the confidence to challenge constructively to drive value and best practice.

You’ll be an excellent communicator who builds trust, inspires teams, and works seamlessly with others to deliver shared goals. With strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, you use data and insight to make informed recommendations and tackle challenges head-on. Organised and forward-thinking, you know how to prioritise tasks effectively, keep accurate records, and take personal responsibility for your own development and knowledge. You act ethically and sustainably, bring commercial awareness to your decisions, and actively contribute to assurance activities and continuous improvement.

Proficiency in the Office 365 suite and a passion for delivering high standards round out your skill set.

Essential experience / qualifications:

  • HND or Degree in construction/engineering/science subject
  • NEC3 or NEC 4 Project Manager Accreditation - desirable
  • Demonstrable experience in contract and commercial management.
  • Demonstrable project management knowledge and experience of a design and construction environment where the design liabilities sit.
  • Demonstrable working knowledge of NEC contract management tools.
  • Experience in managing individuals within a team.
  • Experience in carrying out assurance activities within an NEC contract.
