Astute’s Power Team is partnering with a leading organisation within the Nuclear sector, to recruit an Electrical Technician for its Berkshire site.
The Electrical Technician role comes with a 12-month minimum contract operating under the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) and the opportunity to work on a busy and safety-critical site.

Responsibilities and duties of the Electrical Technician role
- Competently perform the duties of a qualified technician as part of a team engaged in installation, modification, maintenance, repair, testing and trials of electrical systems and equipment
- Carry out installation activities in accordance with relevant drawings and Safe Systems of Work
- Support operations including testing and trials
- Undertake maintenance and repair tasks
- Carry out support installation, modification, EMIT (Examination, Maintenance, Inspection & Test) and decommissioning activities as required
- Work from schematics, diagrams and engineering drawings to install equipment
- Install systems and equipment in compliance with relevant regulatory and legislative requirements
- Complete and maintain all associated records and documentation

Professional Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Completion of a recognised Electrical Apprenticeship or equivalent training
- City & Guilds Level 3 certification in Electrical Engineering
- IET 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
- Experience in electrical installation, examination, maintenance, inspection & test and decommissioning
- Fully conversant with IEE Regulations
- Experience working in site and/or factory environments
- Work experience within engineering, science or construction environments
Desirable
- Experience working on a nuclear licensed site or similar high-hazard environment
Personal Skills
The Electrical Technician Role Would Suit Someone Who Is
- Safety-focused and able to work within strict Safe Systems of Work
- Detail-oriented and capable of working accurately from technical drawings
- Comfortable working in regulated, high-hazard environments
- A strong team player with the ability to follow project instructions effectively

Rate and benefits of the Electrical Technician role
- 12-month minimum contract
- Operating under the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS)
- £38.17 per hour
