An excellent opportunity is available for a Consultant Ecologist to join a well-established, multi-disciplinary environmental consultancy based near Northampton. With more than 30 years of experience, the business provides expert ecology, arboriculture, landscape, and environmental consultancy services to clients across the UK, supporting a diverse range of development and land management projects. As a Consultant Ecologist, you'll become part of a knowledgeable and supportive team dedicated to delivering sustainable, high-quality environmental solutions while encouraging your professional development.
As a Consultant Ecologist, you'll be responsible for a varied workload that combines site surveys with office-based project work. Typical duties include:

- Undertaking Preliminary Ecological Appraisals
- Protected species surveys
- Ecological reporting
- Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) assessments
- Preparing mitigation strategies
- Providing ecological input for planning applications
The Consultant Ecologist will collaborate with experienced environmental professionals across a wide variety of projects.

Requirements
- Experience carrying out ecological surveys and preparing technical reports
- Good understanding of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy
- Degree in Ecology or a related environmental discipline
- Full UK driving licence
- Full right to work in the UK
- Able to live in or within a reasonable commuting distance of the Northampton office
- Strong communication and organizational skills
