What You’ll Be Doing:
As Ecommerce Manager Japan, you will take ownership of Japan’s digital trading performance and customer journey, ensuring best-in-class ecommerce execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Ecommerce Strategy & Growth
Develop and execute the ecommerce growth strategy for the Japan market Drive revenue growth, conversion optimisation, and customer acquisition initiatives Identify new commercial opportunities to increase online sales performance
Website Trading & Merchandising
Manage day-to-day trading performance across the Japanese ecommerce platform Optimise product merchandising, site navigation, and landing pages Build promotional calendars aligned with seasonal campaigns and product launches
Performance Marketing Collaboration
Partner closely with paid media, CRM, SEO, and affiliate teams to maximise traffic and ROI Align digital marketing campaigns with ecommerce sales objectives Support customer retention and loyalty strategies
Customer Experience Optimisation
Continuously improve website UX and customer purchase journey Analyse user behaviour and identify friction points impacting conversion Implement A/B testing and conversion rate optimisation initiatives
Data & Performance Analysis
Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly ecommerce KPIs Analyse website traffic, customer behaviour, conversion funnel, and campaign performance Produce insights and recommendations to improve commercial performance
Market & Localisation Management
Ensure all ecommerce content and campaigns are fully localised for Japanese consumers Monitor local market trends, competitor activity, and customer preferences Collaborate with global teams to adapt international strategies for the local market

What We’re Looking For
Required Experience:
4+ years experience in ecommerce, digital trading, or online retail management Proven track record driving online revenue growth in ecommerce businesses Strong understanding of ecommerce KPIs including conversion rate, AOV, CAC, retention, and ROAS Experience managing website merchandising and digital trading calendars Strong analytical skills with experience using Google Analytics, Shopify, Adobe Analytics, or similar platforms Experience working cross-functionally with marketing, CRM, and product teams Native or fluent Japanese language skills Strong business-level English communication skills
Preferred:
Experience working in health, fitness, beauty, lifestyle, or FMCG brands Experience in DTC (Direct-to-Consumer) ecommerce brands Understanding of Japanese digital consumer behaviour and local ecommerce trends Experience with CRO, A/B testing, and UX optimisation
