Econometrician
Job Description
The EU Econometrics team helps Sky’s EU markets make smarter marketing decisions by measuring the true impact of media and broader commercial drivers on business performance. Sitting within Consumer Strategy, we are at the heart of the business, working across all product areas to inform key decisions. Using advanced analytics and econometric modelling, we quantify what drives sales, optimise media investment, and shape campaign and strategic planning. We work closely with Marketing, Commercial and Finance teams to turn complex data into clear, actionable recommendations that maximise return on every pound invested.
What You’ll Do
As a member of the EU Econometrics team, you’ll help to drive efficiency of Sky Italy’s media and marketing plans through the delivery of key econometric projects, insights and optimisation.
Help deliver econometric projects for Sky Italy aligned to key business priorities Convert model outputs into actionable insights and recommendations to drive value for Sky Italy Engage with stakeholders to support the integration of findings in business decisions Support value generating tasks such as forecasting and annual planning Lead the development of new techniques, tools and processes to improve the efficiency and scope of the team’s work, and incorporating the latest industry thinking to ensure the team remains cutting edge
What You’ll Bring
A numerate degree such as Economics, Econometrics, Maths or Statistics. Experience of delivering econometrics projects with an established provider in the industry A passion for using advanced statistical techniques to convert observable data into actionable recommendations An understanding of media planning and buying and detailed knowledge of how optimisation techniques can be used to inform media planning. Clear understanding of the relevant tool sets to build econometric models, and advanced use of Excel to manipulate data and optimise scenarios based on model parameters. Self-motivated, an enthusiastic attitude and the adaptability to work in a fast paced and dynamic commercial context Excellent written and oral communication skills - be an articulate, positive communicator, with experience of delivering results and recommendations to impact commercial decision making. Excellent organisational and time management skills: ability to multitask and prioritise workload Experience of developing and upskilling econometrics teams to ensure that they utilise the latest tools and techniques. Knowledge of Python is desirable

How You’ll Work
We've adopted a hybrid working approach to give more flexibility on where and how we work. The hybrid working expectations for this role are 2-3 days in the office per week.
