Join us as an Economic Crime Assurance Lead

This is a highly visible and influential role, where you'll lead and evolve the assurance team and service proposition within the Economic Crime Hub. We'll look to you to design and implement a strategic assurance model, leveraging data and technology, and aligning to the Economic Crime Hub strategy for use across the bank. This is an exciting opportunity to build on your existing skills and advance your career in an exciting, fast-paced role.

You'll work from home some of the time, but you'll also spend a minimum of two days per week working from the office.

What you'll do

As an Economic Crime Assurance Lead, you'll lead and deliver a risk-centric, data-led, and efficient assurance model within the Economic Crime Hub. You'll oversee the function, providing assurance across all business areas bank-wide, defining strategy, and designing and delivering methodologies aligned to internal and external standards and policies.

Drawing on strong leadership and motivational skills, you'll drive effective risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across all aspects of Economic Crime risk through risk-based, policy-compliant services delivered across the end-to-end customer journey.

You'll Also Be

  • Migrating and standardising all current bank Economic Crime quality assurance processes, and defining transition states to deliver a strategic target operating model
  • Collaborating with other teams and functions on the risk appetite and compliance agenda to make sure that the appropriate levels of assurance and controls are in place
  • Leading the identification, management, and escalation of risks to support robust root cause analysis and drive improvements in controls, capability, and risk mitigation

The skills you'll need

We're looking for someone with a background in the banking industry, coupled with previous experience in Economic Crime, preferably in a role spanning the three lines of defence. You must also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across the bank.

You'll Also Need

  • A proven track record of successfully leading a large operational function across multiple locations and delivering results
  • Experience in operating model and process design to provide a more strategic, risk-centric, data-led, and efficient delivery model and service proposition
  • A strong track record of influencing both senior stakeholders and operational leaders
  • Knowledge of relevant Economic Crime, Financial Crime, and Fraud environments, together with associated regulatory requirements and policies
  • Knowledge and experience in the design and implementation of assurance frameworks
