Purpose of the Role
To support the Risk Function in delivering its objectives of safeguarding the bank's financial and operational stability by:
- Proactively identifying, assessing, mitigating, and monitoring risks across various business units and activities.
Accountabilities

Strategic risk development Development of strategic direction for risk, including the implementation of up-to-date methodologies and processes.

Risk department management
- Oversight of risk colleagues and their performance
- Implementation of risk priorities and objectives
- Oversight of department efficiency and effectiveness

Stakeholder relationship management
- Identifying relevant stakeholders
- Maintenance of the quality of external third-party services

Compliance with risk frameworks Adherence to the Risk policy, standards, and frameworks, and maintaining a robust control environment.

Economic Crime Business Analyst – 6-month Secondment/Fixed Term Contract (Tesco Bank)
Core Responsibility Purpose
Support the future of retail banking by:
- Managing a portfolio of customers requiring KYC reviews
- Ensuring all regulatory and compliance obligations are satisfied
Key Responsibilities

Project Management Supporting workloads and ascertaining progress across multiple workstreams and milestones
-
Change Management & Risk Mitigation Driving action plans, providing regular stakeholder updates, and risk escalation support
- Documentation & Compliance Review: Analysing and verifying accuracy in customer filing processes
- Ensuring a robust control environment through risk audits, policy adherence, and remediation coordination

Business Alignment & Data Analysis Collaborating across business divisions while:
- Interpreting regulatory requirements
- Conducting complex data analyses to drive process improvement
- assisting KYC, AML, CDD, and remain compliant with evolving measures
Essential Qualifications and Skills
Experience Requirements
- Clear project and/or programme management experience with authority for workstream coordination and milestone delivery
- Proven track record in managing remediation projects, particularly within KYC, AML, Customer Due Diligence (CDD), or regulatory compliance
- AML/KYC expertise (technical or subject-matter level), including thorough governance framework exposure

- Ability to engage senior leaders and stakeholders effectively across functional boundaries
- Strong prioritisation and multi-tasking skills, paced under tight deadlines
Analytical Proficiency
