What is the role?
The purpose of the Economic Strategy Manager is to support the development of GAL's next economic regulation proposal including airline consultation and CAA engagement. The role will also support ongoing regulation work, including compliance.
This role takes an office first hybrid approach here at London Gatwick, with three days a week in the office, two days remote, managed around the needs of the business.
What will you do?
- Supporting the Head of Economics and Regulation in developing the next regulatory proposal (which takes effect from 1 April 2029)
- Analysis of data and assessment of commercial and regulatory developments, engaging with colleagues across finance, commercial, development and operations.
- Preparing PowerPoint presentations for GAL executives, shareholders, airlines and the CAA.
- Managing airline consultation and supporting engagement with the CAA.
- Support business as usual regulatory work including the annual economic regulation monitoring report and Conditions of Use.
- Opportunity to work with government affairs team on policy development.

Do you have what we're looking for?
- Degree-level qualification is desirable, ideally in a related subject matter
- Understanding of economic regulation and / or financial or commercial issues. At an airline or airport desirable
- Experience of analysing data and evaluating evidence.
- Experience of stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.
- Able to produce documents and presentations for senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Able to work with economic, legal and policy concepts.
- Experience interrogating data and reports and setting out compelling, evidence-based arguments.
- Practised in drafting a range of written material including, for example: detailed formal reports, formal letter writing and responses to requests for information.
