  • Soapworks, Salford: Developing a social value action plan for a mixed-used neighbourhood in Greater Manchester
  • Kirklees Cultural Heart: Writing a socio-economic ES chapter and health impact assessment for Huddersfield town centre regeneration
  • Wisbech Gateway: Undertaking economic benefits analysis for a commercial/industrial gateway development in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire

What Are We Looking For?

We are seeking a talented individual capable of managing a range of complex economic projects, including:

  • Providing economic input on planning statements, local plan representations, economic benefit reports, health impact assessments, equality impact assessments, socio-economic chapters, and social impact analysis
  • Leading the delivery of projects and presenting analysis to colleagues, clients, or at conferences/seminars
  • Working across sectors such as residential and regeneration schemes, town expansion, retail, commercial, and leisure-related projects

Experience Requirements (Differences by Role)

Economics Associate

  • 7+ years’ experience in economics/discipline

Economics Director

  • 10+ years’ experience in economics roles

Qualifications & Expertise

  • A degree in economics, human geography, or a related subject
  • In-depth knowledge of the planning system and economic development integration
  • Strong understanding of socio-economic data from official (e.g. ONS, NOMIS) and unofficial sources
  • Experience leading economic impact assessments (job creation, contribution to economic output calculations)
  • Ability to write socio-economic ES chapters for environmental impact assessments
