Economics Teacher

Economics Teacher – Permanent (September 2026)

Location: Haringey

A university-focused sixth form in Haringey is seeking an inspiring and insightful Economics Teacher to join their outstanding faculty from September 2026. This is a permanent role within a sixth form rated Outstanding by Ofsted, renowned for its exceptional A-Level results and track record of students progressing to Economics, Finance, and Politics degrees at top Russell Group and Oxbridge universities.

The Role

As an Economics Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver A-Level Economics with precision, passion, and academic rigor
  • Foster critical analytical thinking, evaluation skills, and confident engagement with economic news
  • Support university progression programmes
  • Build mentoring relationships to help students thrive in higher education

You’ll teach students to think like economists, balancing theory with real-world economic debates—a hallmark of this outstanding institution.


What the School is Looking For

We’re seeking candidates who:

  • Hold British QTS (qualified teacher status)
  • Have a 2:1 or higher degree in Economics from a reputable UK university (Russell Group or Oxbridge preferred)
  • Bring A-Level Economics teaching experience, ideally in a UK school or sixth form
  • Demonstrate remarkable student outcomes and a fierce passion for the subject
  • Are eligible to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)

Requirements:

  • ✅ 2:1+ Economics degree (Russell Group/Oxbridge preferred)
  • ✅ QTS status
  • ✅ Direct teaching experience in A-Level Economics
  • ✅ Unsatiable curiosity about economics—ideally with experience deepening student understanding beyond specifications
  • ✅ Flexibility & adaptability to support university-bound learners

Salary & Contract

Inner London Main Pay Scale (MPS):

  • £40,317 to £52,300 per annum
  • Upper Pay Scale (UPS) available up to £62,496
  • TLR (Teaching and Learning Responsibilities) opportunities for candidates with leadership experience
