Hours: 37.5 per week

Salary: (Depending on experience)

Role Overview

As the Editor-in-Chief at Cambridge Spark, you will lead our media platform: an editorial operation that establishes Cambridge Spark as the authoritative voice and convenor on AI transformation within organisations. This is an editorial leadership role, you will own the voice, the standards and the publishing calendar across written, audio and video, building an audience that the market trusts and returns to.

Most companies produce content. We are building the place where the most important conversations about AI transformation happen. You will work with our CEO and technical leaders as talent – shaping their thinking into work worth publishing – and you will have the taste and the standing to say “that’s not the angle” as readily as “that’s the story”. If you have been looking for where good editorial work is genuinely happening, this is it.

Key responsibilities:

  • Own the editorial vision, voice and standards across all written, audio and video output.
  • Set and run the publishing calendar, and make the final call on what is and isn’t worth publishing.
  • Work with the CEO and technical / subject-matter leaders as talent – drawing out and shaping their thinking into finished work, and managing that dynamic with editorial authority.
  • Lead and develop the editorial team, including producers working to a shared editorial and commercial brief.
  • Build the flagship strands (including podcast and executive thought-leadership formats) that define the platform.
  • Grow audience, share of voice and engagement as the primary measures of success, while maintaining a clear line of sight to influenced pipeline.
  • Uphold quality and editorial independence, so that editorial judgment sits with the editor rather than the subject.

Candidate Specification:

Essential

  • A genuine editorial voice and demonstrable taste, with a track record of deciding what is worth an audience’s attention.
  • A background spanning journalism or media production alongside B2B content, brand or thought leadership.
  • Comfortable managing up – shaping founders’ and senior leaders’ output without losing editorial standards.
  • Fluent in modern production, including AI-enabled workflows across formats.
  • Audience-first thinking, with a clear understanding of the commercial connection and no preciousness about it.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
