Communications Coordinator
The Communications Coordinator will work within Dechert's global Marketing team, contributing to a broad range of content development, storytelling, and editing across traditional and digital channels that build Dechert’s brand and reputation. The Coordinator will play a hands-on role in producing and refining content across multiple formats — including thought leadership, client alerts, social media, and web — with a strong emphasis on writing quality, accuracy, and consistency with the firm’s style.
The ideal candidate is a skilled writer and meticulous editor who takes genuine pride in getting the tone and details right and brings enthusiasm for clear, well-crafted communication. Comfortable working across both the editorial and digital sides of communications, they will be confident publishing content to the web and social media platforms, as well as working closely with senior members of the communications team to translate complex legal subject matter into accessible and compelling content and uphold the firm's editorial standards across all channels. Strong organizational skills, a collaborative mindset, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential.
Essential Job Functions
Editorial
- Serve as a writer and editor across a range of content formats, including thought leadership, client alerts, web announcements, social media posts, and video and podcast scripts.
- Proofread, copyedit, and edit work produced by partners and colleagues across the firm, ensuring technical accuracy, adherence to the firm’s style guide, grammatical correctness, and an absence of errors.
- Support brand voice and tone consistency across content, helping to ensure materials align with Dechert's identity and editorial standards across channels.
- Work with attorneys, practice group leaders, and marketing colleagues to translate complex legal work into clear, compelling, and accessible content across channels and that will be surfaced in web searches.
- Draft and edit lawyer bios, ensuring they are accurate, consistent, and reflective of the firm's brand voice.
- Ensure consistent adherence to the Dechert writing style guide across all content and channels.
- Work with senior communications team members to identify, pursue, and execute a campaign-led content strategy.

Digital and Social Media
- Draft and post social media content that is on-brand, audience-focused, and aligned with the firm's communications goals.
- Maintain website content and post new announcements and lawyer bios, ensuring accuracy, currency, and searchability across the firm's web presence.
- Review email marketing materials for accuracy, consistency, and brand alignment.
General
- Support firm recognition efforts.
- Support the Global Communications Director on projects and initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 3+ years of experience in a writing, editorial, or communications role, with strong skills across a range of content types and formats.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a deep command of editorial technique: proofreading, copyediting, grammar, style, and adherence to a corporate style guide.
- A natural storyteller with an instinct for what makes content compelling, and a strong, developed sense of brand voice and tone.
- Knowledge of AP Style and the ability to learn and apply the firm's writing style guide.
- Proven ability to handle complex subject matter — preferably legal or financial — and translate it into clear, accessible content.
- Knowledge of digital platforms and social media; SEO/GEO knowledge an advantage.
- Strong project management instincts, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure.
- Proactive problem-solving and a positive, can-do attitude.
- Sound judgment in handling sensitive or confidential matters within a professional services environment.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to prioritize and coordinate own workload independently.
- Professional and collaborative, with the ability to communicate clearly and diplomatically with stakeholders across the firm.
- Experience in a law firm, professional services organization, or similarly complex institutional environment preferred.
