  • Responsible for supporting schools in addressing the needs of children facing a range of situations including those who are unable to attend schools as permanently excluded or medically unable to attend school.

  • Contribute to the implementation of ECC’s action plan to support a reduction in permanent exclusions and support the reintegration of pupils into mainstream education.
  • Contribute to the referrals process of seeking independent alternative providers and schools commissioned by ECC to support children and young people with SEND ensuring education programmes are implemented quickly.
  • Support the requirement for sufficient capacity within Essex’s alternative provision market to meet ECC needs as well as enabling schools access to provision offering earlier intervention.
  • Support the development of the new school based provision for children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs.
  • Work collaboratively other professional bodies to support schools to develop high quality alternatives to exclusion and disengagement.
  • Contribute to school-based partnerships to meet the needs of pupils with challenging behaviour. Work with schools to ensure effective anti-bullying measures are in place to protect all children and young people.
  • Work within the service policies in relation to child protection and the working together to keep children safe in education guidance.
  • Specific individual and shared targets and objectives are defined annually within the performance management framework.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
