Description

The Education Coach is responsible for:
- Coordination of 0-5 education services across program operations.
- Implementation of a strength-based coaching model.
- Training for Assistant Site Managers, teaching staff, and home-based staff.
- Implementation, evaluation, and coordination/monitoring of disability services.
- Ensuring full compliance with NAEYC, DCFS, and Head Start Performance Standards.
The role requires:
- A strong understanding of:
- The Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework.
- Illinois Early Learning Standards.
- CLASS, ITERS, ECERS, HOVRS.
- Developmentally appropriate school readiness practice.
Candidate Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Level 5 ECE Credential and Level 5 Infant/Toddler Credential required to be obtained within 6 months of hire.
- Minimum of three years of classroom experience.

Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education/Special Education.
- CLASS Reliable Observer for Infant, Toddler, and Pre-K.
- Familiarity with:
- Creative Curriculum.
- Teaching Strategies GOLD.
- Parents as Teachers.
- ITERS and ECERS.
- Illinois Type 04 Certification.
- Experience in Head Start/Early Head Start, preferably in a multi-site program.
- At least two years of training/coaching experience.
Essential Skills/Requirements:
- Ability to drive and provide access to a personal vehicle.
- Ability to communicate in both English and Spanish.
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain knowledge of best practice in early childhood and disseminate it through ongoing quality assistance to staff.
- Ensure alignment and implementation of:
- Educational plans, standards, and procedures.
- Department of Children & Family Services (DCFS) and Head Start Program Performance Standards.
- NAEYC accreditation standards.
- Illinois Learning Standards and policies approved by Brightpoint’s Board of Trustees and Head Start Parent Policy Council.
- Distribute information and resources to support:
- Teachers, home visitors, classrooms.
- Program quality improvement efforts.
- Support Early Head Start and Head Start objectives.
- Guide teaching staff and home-based staff to:
- Provide developmentally appropriate environments and opportunities for children’s growth.
- Enhance social-emotional outcomes for children and families.
- Continuously disseminate and reinforce early childhood best practices through coaching.

Compensation
- Salary: $60,000–$65,000 per year (commensurate with experience).
- Remuneration adjustments: Bilingual candidates may receive additional compensation.
- Salary subject to change based on factors such as:
- Candidate’s experience, education, qualifications, skills, certifications, and organizational needs.

Location & Schedule
- Base Location: Mitzi Freidheim Child & Family Center (with occasional variation).
- Travel: Occasional travel required.
- Schedule: Full-time, hourly position with potential shift variability.
