Job Introduction

Education Emotional Wellbeing Lead Practitioner

37 hours per week, based at Britannia House, Bradford with opportunities to work from home or remotely.

Part time working will also be considered

The Education based Emotional Wellbeing practitioners (EEWP) Team

As Lead Practitioner, you will head up the established EEWP Team, which is part of the Educational Psychology Service. The therapeutic work of EEWP is underpinned by child focused approaches. The aim of the EEWP team is to work proactively in educational settings to improve children and young people’s emotional wellbeing. As Lead Practitioner you will be responsible for the management and allocation of work across the team and the supervision of the individual EEWPs.

What does the Education based Emotional Wellbeing practitioners (EEWP) Team do?

Educational Emotional Wellbeing practitioners can promote emotional wellbeing support through innovative and creative approaches in accordance with each child's individual needs and capabilities. Their role is to work across education and healthcare to provide mental health support for children and young people in schools and colleges showing signs of stress or anxiety.

They will provide low intensity evidence-based interventions such as guided self-help for those with persistent mild to moderate concerns.

This Might Include

  • Delivering a number of short-term therapeutic and psychoeducational interventions through individual and group support for children in school
  • Assisting school professionals in developing skills, understanding and knowledge of child mental health issues
  • Promoting approaches to improve emotional health and wellbeing
  • Providing non-judgmental emotional support, advice and guidance for parents
  • Signposting to CAMHS specialist services for further help and support

In Addition, The EEWP Lead Role May Include

  • Providing regular supervision and support to emotional wellbeing practitioners
  • Oversight of referral process and case triage
  • Reporting of impact data and information about service delivery to commissioners and colleagues
  • Working with colleagues in education psychology, specialist teaching teams and other services to coordinate and plan support for children and young people

An enhanced disclosure check with the Disclosure and Barring Service will be undertaken for this post.
