Education Engagement Officer

Safeguarding & Education Engagement Officer Closing date: 20/07/2026 Salary: £28,598 – £32,061 per annum Location: Bridgwater

About the Role

You’ll play a critical role within our Children and Families directorate, focusing on safeguarding and ensuring educational access for children, young people, and adults with special educational needs (SEN), aged 0–25.

Your duties will include:

  • Collaborating with education providers, early years settings, and stakeholders to address complex safeguarding issues and support child protection procedures.
  • Promoting welfare and educational entitlement for children and young people in Somerset.
  • Building relationships with attendance leads, headteachers, and professionals to improve outcomes for children.

Experience in education-related roles or supporting children and families is advantageous. A passion for ensuring students access their entitled education will drive this making-a-difference role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hold an allocation of education providers (early years, colleges, independent provision, schools) to address safeguarding concerns.
  • Advise and support settings in resolving complex issues, participating in child protection procedures.
  • Uphold agreed processes and hold both parents and schools accountable for safeguarding and educational access for SEN students.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with professionals focused on child safety and education.
  • Promote safeguarding and welfare through expert knowledge of relevant policies and procedures.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
