Education Fellow- Paediatrics & Neonatal

One post at Whipps Cross Hospital

We are looking for Paediatrics and Neonatology trainees ST3 and above/equivalent or post CCT specialist trainee in paediatrics or neonatology, starting onwards from September 2026.

GMC registration and NHS clinical experience is essential for this role.

The post will be based at the Whipps Cross Hospital and which is part of Barts Health NHS Trust and they will be encouraged to work on collaborative projects.

The successful post holder for this post will be involved primarily with developing educational opportunities within Paediatrics and Neonatology through a wide range of teaching modalities including simulation-based training, clinical skills, lectures, teaching clinics, a bedside teaching to both undergraduate and post graduate medical trainees. Trainees with an interest in developing/establishing digital learning/platform for teaching are welcomed.

This exciting and varied role will provide you with multiple opportunities to further develop your teaching skills and your special interests within medical education. You will be actively involved in setting up and delivering as a part of a motivated team a varied teaching program for undergraduate medical trainees and postgraduate paediatric doctors, nurses and allied health professionals across general paediatrics and neonatology at both sites. The post will allow you to develop your teaching skills and be able to facilitate small group teaching, teach at the bedside and deliver lectures to multidisciplinary groups.

The post holder will have the opportunity to work across sites with other education fellows. All fellows joining our team will be invited to join our Education Forum where fellows have access to a structured development programme. All our fellows are encouraged to undertake a PG Cert in Education. For those who already have this there will be an opportunity to undertake ILM3 (Leadership & Management Course). Funding will be available towards supporting this.
