Job Introduction
Education Psychologist- Autism Anglia and Doucecroft School, Colchester
Are you passionate about helping young people reach their full potential? Doucecroft School, part of Autism Anglia, is looking for a dedicated Educational Psychologist to join our team.
Working across education, care, and health contexts, you will help deliver integrated, evidence-based therapeutic support, promoting psychological wellbeing and supporting the development of children and young people. You will play a key role in embedding high-quality practice and improving outcomes through a strategic, child-centred approach.

Location

Salary
£50-60,000 per annum (pro rata, term-time only, plus additional training days)
Hours
38.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 39 weeks per year (term time only) plus 3 training days during school holidays
What The Role Involves
Provide strategic leadership and clinical oversight of therapeutic services, ensuring evidence-based, outcome-focused delivery. Lead and develop an integrated model of therapeutic support across education, care, and health contexts. Deliver supervision, consultation, and professional guidance to therapy staff, promoting high standards of practice. Lead comprehensive psychological assessments and produce high-quality reports with clear, evidence-based recommendations. Design, implement, and evaluate therapeutic and behaviour support programmes for individuals and groups. Contribute to EHCP processes, statutory assessments, and multidisciplinary reviews to support effective provision. Work collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies to embed therapeutic approaches and improve outcomes. Drive service development, training, and capacity building, promoting understanding of psychological wellbeing, neurodiversity, and trauma-informed practice.

What We’re Looking For
Doctorate in Educational Psychology Registered with HCPC Experience of working with learners with autism or learning disabilities (highly advantageous). Experience delivering psychological assessments and interventions A valid driving licence (desirable).
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone with patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for supporting young people.
