About Shaftesbury Statement
Shaftesbury is a disability charity supporting individuals through care, education, vocational training, and rehabilitation. The organisation also delivers residential care, nursing, and supported living.
Within the education sector, Shaftesbury operates:
- Shaftesbury Victoria School (for students aged 3–19)
- Shaftesbury Millie College & Shaftesbury Nash College (for students aged 16–25)
All students have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and physical and/or intellectual disabilities, with many having profound and complex needs.

You’ll support students with disabilities and additional needs through:
- Access to learning and skill development
- Enjoying all aspects of school life
- Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure personalised care

Key Responsibilities
As an Education Support Worker (ESW), your duties will include: ✔ Inspiring and supporting students in learning and daily activities ✔ Encouraging wellbeing, independence, and inclusion ✔ Maintaining high standards of care, communication, and teamwork ✔ Using your interests (e.g., art, music, sport, computers) to make learning engaging and meaningful
Essential Skills & Qualifications
