Hi,

Thank you for expressing your interest in participating in the ScribbleSense Learning Disabilities AI Project.

About the Project

We are currently building a multidisciplinary consortium of experts to support a proposed UK government-funded research and innovation project focused on dysgraphia and handwriting difficulties in children. We would be delighted to have you as part of this initiative.

About ScribbleSense

ScribbleSense Ltd is a UK-based EdTech start-up, founded in Jan-2024. The company is dedicated to supporting children aged 4–12 with dysgraphia, handwriting difficulties, and related learning challenges through innovative technology and evidence-based learning resources. By combining early identification, personalised interventions, and engaging learning experiences, ScribbleSense empowers children to build handwriting confidence, improve academic performance, and achieve greater independence in their educational journey.

Our Solutions

ScribbleSense currently offers a range of products designed to support children with dysgraphia and handwriting difficulties. Working closely with experts, we also aim to further enhance our existing solutions and develop new products to better meet the needs of children, parents, and educators.

  • ScribbleSense App — early detection of dysgraphia and tablet-based exercises to help overcome it.
  • Expert-designed workbooks to improve writing challenges, especially dysgraphia.
  • Expert-designed exercise guides to improve writing challenges, especially dysgraphia.
  • Activity materials — child-friendly wooden activity materials for handwriting exercises. Four materials in the range, all tested and approved to the EN 71 safety standard for children's products.

These products are used by children, parents, schools, SENCOs, occupational therapists, and other professionals to support handwriting development both at home and in educational and clinical settings.

Grant Project Objectives

The proposed project will enhance ScribbleSense existing solutions into a robust AI-enabled screening platform suitable for UK educational settings. Objectives include earlier identification of SEN, AI-assisted handwriting analysis, evidence generation, ethical AI, educational validation, UK pilot studies, and improved support for teachers and families inline with GDPR regulation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Proposed Project Activities & Role of a Collaborator or Advisor

The project aims to transform current assessment and intervention approaches used within the UK education and healthcare systems for children with dysgraphia and handwriting difficulties into an evidence-based, explainable AI model. By integrating clinical expertise, educational best practices, and artificial intelligence, the project will develop a reliable, scalable solution for the early identification of handwriting difficulties and the delivery of personalised intervention programmes.

Key project activities include:

  • Literature review
  • Clinical and educational evidence mapping
  • AI model development
  • Practitioner workshops
  • Algorithm training and validation
  • School pilot studies
  • Usability testing
  • Explainable AI development
  • Safeguarding and GDPR compliance review
  • Project evaluation
  • Commercial readiness planning

Throughout the project, collaborators and advisors will work closely with the ScribbleSense software engineering and AI development team to translate clinical and educational knowledge into practical AI solutions. Regular engagement will ensure that the AI models remain evidence-based, technically robust, clinically relevant, and aligned with the project's objectives.

Collaborators and advisors will provide expert guidance on research methodology, review educational and clinical content, validate AI outputs, participate in advisory meetings, support pilot studies, contribute to ethical and regulatory governance, assist with dissemination activities, and provide strategic advice to strengthen the project's impact and future adoption.

Participation is flexible and is expected to require approximately 4–6 hours per week during the active phases of the project.
