Educational Psychologist

Educational Psychologist Associate – North West England & West Yorkshire (Face-to-face work required across Manchester, Leeds, Bradford, Calderdale & surrounding areas)

We are seeking Educational Psychologists to join Psychology Direct as associates, supporting our partners across the North of England with statutory and non-statutory work in schools, settings, and collaborative projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Psychological Assessments

    • Conduct assessments to support EHCP processes and statutory requirements.
    • Develop evidence-based intervention strategies for children and young people with:
      • Educational needs
      • Developmental challenges
      • Social-emotional difficulties
  • School & Team Support

    • Provide consultation to teachers, SENCOs, and senior leaders in schools.
    • Collaborate with parents, carers, and multidisciplinary teams.
    • Contribute to systemic and whole-school initiatives where needed.
  • Output & Reporting

    • Produce clear, high-quality psychological advice and reports.

About the Role

Location & Work Pattern: Face-to-face and remote work required across:

  • Manchester, Leeds, Bradford, Calderdale
  • Wider North West England & West Yorkshire

Your duties will involve supporting schools and settings in these regions.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Qualified Educational Psychologist with:
    • A relevant postgraduate qualification (doctorate or equivalent).
  • Registered with the HCPC.
  • Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience in a UK educational/Local Authority context.
  • Enhanced DBS check.
  • Proven skills in:
    • Assessment
    • Report-writing
  • Experience delivering face-to-face and remote work across locations.
  • Exceptional communication skills with:
    • Children & young people
    • Families & professionals
