About the Role & Enfield Council
Enfield Council is seeking enthusiastic and skilled Maingrade Educational Psychologists (EPs) to join its well-regarded Educational Psychology Service (EPS), dedicated to supporting Enfield’s children, young people, and families. Our EPS is committed to:
- High-quality, inclusive support for all learners
- Trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices
- Multi-agency collaboration across schools, health, and social care
- Leading innovation in areas such as neurodiversity, ADHD, adoption and permanent fostering (LAC), and emotional wellbeing
The service currently delivers or contributes to:
- Virtual School for Looked After Children (LAC)
- Youth Justice Services and CAMHS neurodevelopmental pathways
- Primary Behaviour Support (SWERRL) and ELSA/MeLSA
- Autism and developmental psychology (Enfield Advisory Service for Autism – EASA)
- School Admissions and Mental Health Support Teams
Your Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, impartial psychological assessments and interventions to address learning barriers, emotional difficulties, and social challenges for children and young people.
- Work closely with teachers, parents, and multi-disciplinary teams to develop and implement individualised education and wellbeing plans.
- Support trauma-informed practice, including work with children impacted by adversity, abuse, or familial disruption.
- Contribute to specialist projects, such as autism referral and support, CAMHS integration, or behaviour support services.
- Enhance inclusion and equity in education by fostering culturally responsive and multilingual-personnel-friendly approaches.
- Build strong partnerships with schools, social workers,volluntary sector bodies, health services, and other agencies.
- Model professionalism and adherence to safeguarding, confidentiality, and ethical standards at all times.

About the Educational Psychology Service (EPS)
The EPS productivity relies on its inclusive, experience-driven, and emotionally attuned team. Successful candidates will feel empowered to:
- Build relationships within assigned school ‘patches’ to deepen collaborative impact.
- Engage in commitment-building and peer learning, including formal supervision and staff appraisals.
- Work with a team that includes Senior EPs with additional expertise in autism, ADHD, and school behaviour.
