Mechanical Maintenance Technician - Energy Recovery
SUEZ are hiring for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our Severnside Energy Recover Centre. You will be working as part of a supportive, multi-skilled team, where you’ll deliver both reactive and planned maintenance while contributing to a site that turns waste into energy and helps reduce environmental impact.
Salary: £45,808
Benefits: £3000 call out allowance, up to 10% annual bonus, 5% employer pension, 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays
Location: Severnside Energy Recover Centre Avonmouth
Hours: Monday – Friday 7.45am – 15.45pm
About The Role
What will I be doing?
As a Mechanical Technician within our Energy Recovery facility in Avonmouth, you’ll play a vital role in keeping essential plant and equipment operating safely, efficiently, and sustainably. This is a hands-on opportunity suited to those with a mechanical bias who want to build a long-term career in sustainable energy and circular economy operations.

- Carrying out high-quality mechanical maintenance across all plant and equipment
- Supporting colleagues across disciplines and assisting other sites when required
- Recording work accurately using the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Maintaining excellent housekeeping and updating documentation following plant changes
- Taking part in a paid 24-hour callout rota, as well as attending training when needed
What are the requirements?
- A completed engineering apprenticeship, with City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3
- Experience in maintenance engineering within a process, steam-raising, or heavy engineering environment
- Experience working safely in a regulated environment, including permit-to-work systems
- A relevant health and safety qualification (such as IOSH), plus welding and burning experience
- Working knowledge of CMMS, a basic appreciation of electrical systems, and regulatory monitoring experience (MCERTS desirable)
