EGTL Plant Area & Systems (Mechanical) Team Leader

Responsibilities
- Developing and managing governance, risk, and compliance strategies to ensure the responsible operation of EGTL assets while adhering to the company’s GMI-PEM, MAN, and SHE management systems.
- Developing and managing the plant area and systems engineering business plan, integrating it into the EGTL business plan.
- Managing the engineering and maintenance operational expenditures (Opex) and capital budgets.
- Responsible for project and outage management from concept to delivery, ensuring the scope is delivered to safety, quality, time, and cost targets.
- Performing strategic contract management from concept to delivery and ongoing performance management, leading complex technical and commercial contract negotiations.
- Developing and managing maintenance strategies to achieve technical, compliance, and cost performance targets.
- Ensuring business targets are met and best practice is employed through proactive networking, stakeholder management, and benchmarking.

Profile Requirements
Technical & Professional Expertise
- Extensive technical knowledge and experience in power plant engineering, maintenance, and operations.
- Qualifications including a degree in engineering or equivalent higher national diploma (HND) / higher national certificate (HNC) with demonstrable extensive knowledge and experience.
- Proficient in current policies and procedures affecting the management and operations of engineering assets to include Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) plants.
- Experienced in managing high-value and high-risk power plant projects.
- APMP Level D certification (or equivalent) with a goal to achieve APMP Project Manager Level C certification.
- Experienced contract manager with:
- In-depth understanding of the business and the delivery of contract services.
- Ability to set realistic contract expectations and a holistic back-to-front contract knowledge framework.
- Understanding of operational and financial risks to mitigate risks and protect the business.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- Contractor Management and Engagement (CME) certification and authorisation to hold Nominated Engineer, ERep, and ERSHE contract roles.
- Comprehensive know-how of maintenance best practice and its execution via SAP.

Safety & Leadership Competencies
- Extensive experience in safety leadership and cultural development of a high-performance safety culture.
- Valid certification from the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) or equivalent.
- Experienced as a practising Operational Excellence Navigator.

- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to manage performance, coach, mentor, and motivate individuals, teams, and contract staff.
- Strong interpersonal skills to manage effective relationships with diverse stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to inspire and drive change.
- Confidence to challenge established practices and develop innovative solutions.
- Strong planning and organisational skills, prioritising tasks, managing resources, and maintaining a long-term strategic focus.
- Working towards an accreditation with a recognised professional body.
- Named as a qualified and practising First Aider.
