Gov, Risk & Compliance Lead (Power Plant Engineer) – Uniper EGTL

Responsibilities
Strategic Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Develop and manage governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) strategies for EGTL (Enfield, Grain & Taylors Lane) assets, ensuring alignment with GMI-PEM, MAN, and SHE management systems.
Engineering & Maintenance Leadership
- Develop and oversee the EGTL plant area and systems engineering business plan, integrating it into the overarching business plan.
- Manage operational and capital budgets, including engineering and maintenance costs.
Project & Outage Management
- Lead project and outage management from concept to delivery, ensuring responsible delivery against safety, quality, time, and cost targets.

Strategic Contract Management
- Manage high-value, high-risk power plant projects (APMP Level D or equivalent), with a focus on complex technical and commercial negotiations.
- Lead strategic contract management from concept to delivery, including performance management.
Maintenance & Operational Excellence
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies to meet technical, compliance, and cost performance targets.
- Ensure SAP-based maintenance best practices are executed effectively.
- Drive operational excellence, benchmarking, and proactive stakeholder management to meet business targets.
Requirements
Technical & Engineering Expertise
- Degree-level qualification in Electrical and Control & Instrumentation Engineering (or equivalent HNC/D with extensive experience).
- Extensive knowledge of power plant engineering, maintenance, and operations, including CCGT (Combined Cycle Gas Turbine) assets.
- APMP Project Manager Level D qualification (or equivalent) with progress towards APMP Level C.
Project & Contract Management
- High-value, high-risk project management experience in power generation.
- Trained in CME (Contractor Management and Engagement), with authority/authorisation to hold Nominated Engineers Representative (ERSHE) and Instructing Engineer roles.
- Excellent contract negotiation skills, commercial awareness, and operational/financial risk mitigation expertise.
- Ability to set realistic contract expectations and apply back-to-front contract knowledge.

Safety & Compliance
- NEBOSH certificate (or equivalent) with demonstrable safety leadership experience.
- Experimental in developing a regenerative safety culture.
- Qualified and practicing First Aider.
Soft Skills & Leadership
- Operational Excellence Navigator with hands-on coaching and mentoring experience.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to inspire change, challenge status quo, and implement innovative solutions.
- Strong planning, prioritising, and resource management skills with a strategic mindset.
- Working towards accreditation with a recognised professional body.
