EHCP Assistant Officer
About Us
Join Oxfordshire County County Council on an exciting journey towards Delivering the Future Together, our ambitious transformation programme which will enable us to be an employer, partner, and place shaper of choice. We’re seeking the right people who can help us embrace our value of ‘daring to do it differently’, striving to do better.
In our Children, Education, & Families Directorate, we aim for every child to receive the best possible education. With this goal, we’re improving and transforming our services, currently focusing on Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
We’re proud of the progress made in SEND services, with Ofsted and Care Quality Commission (CQC) reporting that Oxfordshire’s local area partnership has taken "effective action" to accelerate service improvements. This follows a monitoring visit in September 2025, ensuring better support for children and young people with SEND.
As a financially stable local authority, Oxfordshire County Council is committed to investing in Children, Education, and Families. Together, we’ll ensure we have the resources needed to make a real difference.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
