Senior EHS Advisor – Kendal (Westmorland Business Park)
About the Role
Anord Mardix—an industry-leading global provider of critical power solutions—supports vital infrastructure across sectors like finance, data centres, and more. Based at our facility in Kendal, as part of a team reporting to the EHS Lead, the EHS Advisor ensures robust risk management, accident prevention, and the promotion of a strong Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) culture.
This role is responsible for:
- Implementing and maintaining EHS policies, standards, and systems
- Coordinating internal audits, risk assessments, and compliance monitoring
- Fostering collaboration with technical, engineering, manufacturing, and facilities teams
- Investigating incidents, near-misses, and occupational health concerns
- Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies
Key Responsibilities
Compliance & Digital Systems
- Ensure statutory compliance – Monitor and coordinate all statutory EHS obligations for the business.
- Maintain and improve management systems (ISO 45001 & ISO 14001) across sites.
- Align EHS policies and metrics with operational practices.
Risk & Incident Management
- Conduct and chair active safety tours, EHS inspections, and risk assessments.
- Publish and review RAMS (Risk Assessments, Method Statements) and enforce control measures.
- Investigate incidents/near-misses – Identify root causes, propose solutions, and provide equity resolution updates.
- Engage in occupational health surveillance and assist remedial action planning.

Collaboration & Representation
- Work with technical/engineering teams to integrate EHS into all operational stages.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies.
Continuous Improvement
- Review and elevate company EHS practices based on identifying trends or gaps.
- Share best practices across multiple sites to enhance overall EHS standards.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Essential:
- NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety
- Extensive experience in EHS roles within Manufacturing, Construction, or Engineering
- Proficiency in ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and other HSE legislation
- Ability to operate independently under minimal supervision
- Fluent written and verbal communication skills, both internally and externally
