About the Role
We are seeking an EHS Generalist to strengthen our UK EHS team. This on-site (og-sc) fixed position standard requires full-time hours (20 eligible for part-time).
The EHS Generalist provides operational and strategic support to:
- The EHS and Facilities Team.
- Management and employees across the business.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead and develop EHS programmes, initiating process improvements to enhance regulatory compliance and safety culture.
- Provide expert guidance and advice to employees and leadership, escalating issues as necessary.
- Present EHS strategies to key stakeholders and business committees.
- Conduct risk assessments, develop action plans, and monitor implementation.
- Ensure compliance with COSHH regulations across all UK sites.
- Lead and participate in audits, inspections, and incident investigations, including work at height, confined spaces, and underground areas.
- Serve as a point of contact for Environmental and Health & Safety compliance, liaising with auditors.
- Chair Sustainability team meetings, aligning improvements with ISO audit requirements and corporate goals.
- Prepare and present reports on EHS performance metrics.
- Work remotely 1 full day per week (WFH occasionally for certain meetings).

Travel:
- Primary site: Livingston (West Lothian).
- Additional travel to Glenrothes and potential multi-site appointments depending on project needs.

Requirements
Education & Professional Qualifications
- Minimum: Professional qualification including NEBOSH General Certificate OR Environmental qualification (e.g., IEMA Foundation).
- Preferred: Background in chemical safety, including Hazardous & COSHH compliance.
Experience & Technical Knowledge
- Demonstrated expertise in ISO14001 (Environmental Mgmt) & ISO 45001 (OHS).
- In-depth understanding of UK statutory health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Familiarity with waste hierarchy (general and hazardous).
- Hands-on experience with training development, content creation, and maintaining audit-readiness.
- Manufacturing or engineering EHS compliance background.
- Fluent in data-driven reporting, especially via Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience in project management and stakeholder collaboration.
- Analytical skills and active membership (or commitment to join) a professional body (e.g., IOSH, IEMA, IIRSM).
Security Clearance
- Current Secret Clearance standard (SC), or eligibility to acquire.
