Location: Rushden, Northamptonshire NN10
Salary: A GBP 50,000 per annum
Working Monday to Friday 8am - 4.30pm
About The Role
Hawk 3 Talent Solutions have an excellent opportunity for an experienced EHS Manager to lead Environmental, Health and Safety activity at a busy manufacturing site in Rushden. Reporting into the Plant Manager, with additional support from the Regional EHS function, this role is pivotal in driving a proactive safety culture and ensuring full compliance with UK legislation and industry standards.
You will champion a zero-accident mindset, strengthen environmental performance, and embed best-practice behaviours across all departments. Acting as the site's primary EHS contact, you will work collaboratively with managers, employees and cross-site teams to deliver continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- EHS Leadership: Lead and coordinate Environmental, Health and Safety systems across the Rushden site.
- Safety Culture Development: Promote positive safety behaviours and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Occupational Health Management: Arrange referrals, surveillance programmes and employee assessments; ensure regular OH visits and maintain confidential records in line with GDPR.
- First Aid Compliance: Ensure adequate numbers of trained First Aiders are maintained.
- Legislative Compliance: Ensure adherence to UK Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and corporate standards.
- Performance Monitoring: Analyse and report EHS data, identifying trends and improvement opportunities.
- Incident Investigation: Lead investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Audit and Accreditation Support: Support internal/external audits and maintain ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems.
- Training and Coaching: Deliver inductions, refresher training and provide coaching to managers and employees.
- Environmental and Sustainability Projects: Lead site projects focused on environmental performance and sustainability.
- Reporting and Communication: Prepare monthly EHS reports and share updates with key stakeholders.

Qualifications And Experience
- NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) is essential.
- Proven experience in an EHS management or advisory role within manufacturing or a similar operational environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK Health and Safety and Environmental legislation.
- Experience working with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
- Skilled in incident investigation, root cause analysis and corrective action management.
- Confident delivering training and engaging employees at all levels.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications and data/KPI reporting.
