Huntsman EHS Officer – Wilton, UK (Full-Time Onsite Role)
We are looking for an experienced EHS Officer with a background in a continuous flow manufacturing environment to join our chemical site in Wilton (Sabra ratings plant).
About the Role
Reporting to the Site EHS Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Building strong working relationships with operational teams to promote our corporate EHS culture.
- Monitoring EHS plans, conducting Permit-to-Work (P2W) verifications, and sharing best practices across site functions to meet EHS standards.
Role Responsibilities
As an EHS Officer, your key responsibilities include:

Engagement & Compliance
- Build relationships with site personnel and conduct regular safety walks to ensure alignment with Corporate, Business, and Site EHS Policies.
- Contribute to improving EHS standards and implement actions that enhance site performance.

Controlled Waste & Regulatory Compliance
- Supervise controlled waste disposal to meet legal requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislations, regulations, and codes of practice to advise on EHS issues.

permits & Improvement Plans
- Support the development, maintenance, and implementation of site Improvement Plans / IPPC Permit responsibilities, ensuring full compliance with legal and corporate standards.

Audit & Risk Management
- Review and update safety procedures and conduct audit compliance checks, taking action on non-compliance issues.

Behavioural Safety & PPE
- Actively participate in the site’s Behavioural Safety Programme, reviewing observations and enforcement actions.
- Manage PPE procurement, issue, and maintenance, including budget control.

Project Leadership
- Contribute to and lead project groups as part of EHS Steering Group activities.
Experience & Competencies
We are seeking candidates with:

Industry & Regulatory Experience
- Previous experience in a continuous manufacturing environment (e.g., Chemicals, Oil & Gas, or Pharmaceuticals), including a COMAH-regulated site.
- Strong NEBOSH Certification or Diploma is desirable.

Communication & Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and influencing skills to build trust with site personnel.
- Ability to deliver both group training and presentations on safety and EHS topics.
