This UK-based role is hybrid with a minimum 3 days onsite at Weybridge St Georges, Surrey with regular time at the new site to oversee activities. This is a fixed 12-month contract.
Job Purpose
- Partner with Haleon teams and third parties to support set-up, relocation and activation of the new Weybridge Innovation Facility.
- Act as the Environment Health and Safety Specialist for laboratories, warehouse operations and office/workplace environments, ensuring safe, compliant operations from Day 1.
- Design, implement and embed site-specific EHS systems, procedures and training to support construction, commissioning, move-in and steady-state operation.
Scope of Role
EHS Set-up and Readiness
- Develop and implement site-specific EHS management systems, policies and procedures for laboratories, warehouses and workplace areas.
- Embed EHS requirements into fit-out, commissioning, handover and occupation activities with project, design and facilities teams.
- Complete risk assessments, task analyses and hazard reviews for new spaces, equipment, processes and work practices.
- Support compliance with UK HSE, environmental, fire safety, hazardous materials and Haleon Duty Holder requirements.

Operational Safety
- Work with the WSG EHS team to establish laboratory safety frameworks, including chemical hygiene, SDS management, hazardous materials storage, waste handling and emergency response.
- Develop controls for warehouse, contractor, material handling, forklift and equipment activities.
- Implement safe systems of work for office and workplace environments, including DSE, ergonomics, fire safety, evacuation and wellbeing.
- Act as the site EHS subject matter expert during initial operations.
Training, Go-live and Continuous Improvement
- Design and deliver EHS induction, relocation and role-specific training for laboratory, warehouse, facilities and office-based teams.
- Establish training records, competence checks and refresher cycles before go-live.
- Support commissioning, readiness reviews and phased occupation, including transfer of EHS responsibilities from construction to operations.
- Lead early incident prevention, near-miss reporting, audits, investigations, corrective actions and EHS KPI reporting.
Stakeholder and Regulatory Engagement
- Contribute to the operations transfer core team and act as the primary site EHS interface for internal stakeholders, contractors and regulators.
- Support audits, inspections and compliance reporting during and after transition.
- Align site practices with Haleon corporate EHS standards and governance.
