Role Availability

Please note: at this stage, the role is open only to colleagues currently employed by the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB) and Southeast Integrated Care Boards; and current at-risk employees within Kent and Medway NHS Trusts.

About the Role

The Elective Reform Commissioning Support Manager is responsible for managing defined projects that support the delivery of the commissioning and performance elective care services. Working within an agreed framework, the post holder will lead project planning, delivery and reporting, ensuring projects are delivered to time, quality and cost.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for commissioning and performance of individual elective care services in line with ICB and national strategies and policies and using an MDT approach
  • Lead on development of defined areas of the strategy, needs assessments, commissioning policies, commissioning intentions and planning processes in those defined areas, working across the elective care team
  • Ensure the services being commissioned in the defined portfolio meet the needs of residents in KM, working closely with a wide range of colleagues to ensure integration.
  • Contribute to ensuring PSR-compliance, delivering VFM and managing performance of providers against the contract.
  • Owner of some strategic relationships with partners, formulating and delivering against a commissioning strategy.
  • Ensure delivery of defined and relevant ICB Statutory duties
  • Responsible for supporting defined parts of the planning cycle and assurance of progress and outcomes
  • Work across the wider team to share and manage workload across the team flexibly.
  • On a rota basis responsible for the management of the elective care inbox
  • On a rota basis responsible for the management of the blueteq system for approving individual funding requests
