Experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Technician Opportunity

Are you an experienced Electrical and Instrumentation professional looking to make a high-impact move? We are seeking a dedicated and technically adept Electrical and Instrumentation Technician to join a world-class manufacturing facility. This is an exceptional opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where your expertise in circuit maintenance, automation, and diagnostic troubleshooting will directly drive production excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, install, rebuild, and repair electrical equipment, ensuring optimal functionality through precise troubleshooting of circuit problems.
  • Proactively support operations technicians in resolving technical issues, including emergency repairs, and collaborate across teams to meet ambitious business goals.
  • Analyze logic in PLCs and control equipment, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools to maintain high levels of production machine reliability.
  • Manage maintenance documentation via the SAP system, ensuring all processes are accurate and up to date.
  • Champion a culture of safety by adhering to strict protocols, reporting near misses, and maintaining an impeccable workspace.
  • Support and develop mechanical maintenance skills to provide comprehensive technical coverage across the plant.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of an ONC/C and G Part III or HNC/NVQ Level 3 in an Electrical Engineering time-served apprenticeship.
  • Proven electrical experience within a process or production environment, specifically in the FMCG sector.
  • Strong technical proficiency with PLC systems (preferably Allen Bradley), SCADA systems, instrumentation, and 415v motor control circuits.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively within a shift-based team.
  • A proactive mindset focused on identifying and implementing system reliability improvements.

What We Offer

  • A competitive hourly rate of GBP23.64, plus a shift allowance of GBP4.32 per hour (total GBP27.96/hr).
  • A dynamic 12-hour shift pattern involving a mixture of days and nights (6am to 6pm and 6pm to 6am).
