As an Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Technician at the Sellafield site, your role is critical where safety is paramount. You’ll maintain radiation protection instruments, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety, accuracy, and compliance—all while being at the heart of our operations.
Responsibilities
As an E&I Technician, your day-to-day work includes:
- Repair, maintenance, calibration, and testing of radiation protection instruments to meet customer demands
- Maintaining accurate records of instructions and work progress
- Adhering to local procedures, rules, and practices to ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements
- Providing technical advice, progress updates, and relevant information to customers as needed
- Acting as a mentor for team members, including apprentices and new entrants, to uphold standards and best practices
Location and Working Hours
This permanent, full-time role operates over 37 hours per week and is based at the Sellafield site, near Seascale and Egremont, Cumbria.

Experience and Qualifications
Essential Experience
- Knowledge and understanding of conventional and nuclear safety
- Proven experience servicing electronic instrument systems
Qualifications
- Level 3 Electrical Qualification
- Apprenticeship or equivalent training in relevant disciplines (e.g., Electronic, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Technology)
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must achieve and maintain a Security Check (SC) clearance. Further details can be found on the GOV.UK website.
