At Cavendish Nuclear, we’re committed to creating a safe and secure world through collaboration. Join us as an Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Technician at the Sellafield site, working near Seascale and Egremont, Cumbria.

The Role

As an E&I Technician, you’ll play a critical role in safety-driven operations. Your responsibilities include the repair, maintenance, calibration, and testing of Radiation Protection Instruments, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety, accuracy, and compliance.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Repair, maintain, calibrate, and test radiation protection instruments to meet customer work demands
  • Maintain accurate instructions and records
  • Conform to local procedures, rules, and safety practices to ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements
  • Provide technical advice and updates on work progress
  • Mentor junior team members, including apprentices and new entrants, to uphold standards

This permanent position involves 37 hours per week based at the Sellafield site.


Essential Requirements

Experience

  • Knowledge of conventional and nuclear safety protocols
  • Proven experience in servicing electronic instrument systems

Qualifications

  • Level 3 Electrical Qualification
  • Apprenticeship or equivalent training (e.g., Electrical, Electronic, Instrumentation, Technology)

Security Clearance

  • Must obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance—further details here.
