At JM, we are hiring Electrical, Instrument, and Multi-skilled Technicians to join our Platinum Group Metal Services (PGMS) business. PGMS, part of the Efficient Natural Resources Sector, manages, distributes, refines, and recycles precious metals, manufacturing platinum group metals, compounds, organometallics, and fine metal powders for high-technology applications. The business also provides management services for precious metals.
Current Vacancies
1. Multi-Skilled Technician (M&E) – Day Shift (Monday-Friday)
Location: Royston, UK Salary: £45,589 plus free lunch, discretionary bonus, and benefits
2. Electrical Engineer – 24/7 Shift
Location: Enfield, North London Salary: £44,113.00 + 35% shift allowance + lunch allowance = £60,345.05
3. Instrument Technician – 24/7 Shift
Location: Enfield, North London Salary: £43,765.00 + 35% shift allowance + lunch allowance = £59,875.25

Key Responsibilities (Electrical Technician Focus)
- Safety first: Adhere to safety policies and procedures across all tasks.
- Fault diagnosis: Utilise technical drawings, operator manuals, electrical schematics, and P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams) to diagnose faults efficiently.
- Reduce downtime: Propose and implement improvements in both electrical and instrumentation systems to minimise plant downtime.
- Asset reliability: Enhance site performance by ensuring regulatory compliance, productive output, cost efficiency, and engineering reliability:
- Maintain accurate written records using the SAP CMMS system.
- Coordinate with compliance and technical teams to review maintenance documents and operational procedures.
- Inspections & maintenance: Conduct regular inspections, testing, calibration, adjustments, and monitoring to sustain plant efficiency and equipment reliability.
Requirements
- A recognised industrial Electrical or Instrumentation qualification (HNC/ONC equivalent) or a time-served Apprenticeship with 5+ years’ experience.
- Proven experience in manufacturing or chemical industries.
- Strong background in structured problem-solving, fault diagnosis, and debugging.
