Electrical Apprenticeship

Fixed Term Electrical Apprenticeship (48 Months)

Position Details

  • Full Time – 40 hours per week
  • College Attendance: Gloucestershire College (day release from October 2026)
  • Closing Date: 12th July 2026
  • Assessment & Interviews: Weeks commencing 27th July & 3rd August 2026

About the Role

Seeking a hands-on career where you can learn valuable skills, earn a wage, and gain qualifications?

Gloucester City Homes (GCH) is looking for an Apprentice Electrician to join our PropertyCare Electrical Team.

Working alongside experienced electricians, you will gain practical experience in:

  • Electrical maintenance
  • Repairs
  • Installations across our housing portfolio while completing a recognized apprenticeship qualification.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to become a qualified electrician.


Responsibilities

  • Supporting qualified electricians with maintenance, repairs, and installations
  • Learning electrical testing, fault-founding, and safe working practices
  • Working in customers' homes and empty properties across Gloucester
  • Using tools, materials, and equipment safely and responsibly
  • Developing strong customer service and communication skills
  • Completing apprenticeship training and college-based learning

Person Specification – What We’re Looking For

We are not expecting an expert. Instead, we’re looking for someone with the right attitude and willingness to learn. You will be:

Essential Qualifications

  • GCSEs in English and Maths at Grade 9–3 (A–D or equivalent)*
  • Alternatively:
    • Level 1 or Level 2 Functional Skills in:
      • English
      • Maths
      • Science or Technical Subject
