Electrical Apprenticeship
Fixed Term Electrical Apprenticeship (48 Months)

Position Details
- Full Time – 40 hours per week
- College Attendance: Gloucestershire College (day release from October 2026)
- Closing Date: 12th July 2026
- Assessment & Interviews: Weeks commencing 27th July & 3rd August 2026
About the Role
Seeking a hands-on career where you can learn valuable skills, earn a wage, and gain qualifications?
Gloucester City Homes (GCH) is looking for an Apprentice Electrician to join our PropertyCare Electrical Team.
Working alongside experienced electricians, you will gain practical experience in:
- Electrical maintenance
- Repairs
- Installations across our housing portfolio while completing a recognized apprenticeship qualification.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to become a qualified electrician.
Responsibilities
- Supporting qualified electricians with maintenance, repairs, and installations
- Learning electrical testing, fault-founding, and safe working practices
- Working in customers' homes and empty properties across Gloucester
- Using tools, materials, and equipment safely and responsibly
- Developing strong customer service and communication skills
- Completing apprenticeship training and college-based learning

Person Specification – What We’re Looking For
We are not expecting an expert. Instead, we’re looking for someone with the right attitude and willingness to learn. You will be:
- Interested in pursuing a career as an electrician
- Reliable, hardworking, and eager to learn
- A good team player with a positive attitude
- Committed to health and safety
- Confident communicating with customers and colleagues
- Ability to use basic IT and mobile devices

Essential Qualifications
- GCSEs in English and Maths at Grade 9–3 (A–D or equivalent)*
- Alternatively:
- Level 1 or Level 2 Functional Skills in:
- English
- Maths
- Science or Technical Subject
- Level 1 or Level 2 Functional Skills in:
