Role Overview
We are looking for an Electrical Assembly Technician to join a busy Electrical Assembly Department based at our Aberdeen Branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling a variety of cable assemblies, control stations, and junction boxes, as well as delivering bespoke customer solutions to meet the requirements of both new and existing clients. Future growth will look at potential on-site services and expanding the knowledge of the assembly team.
Hours
- Full-time Monday - Thursday; 8.00 am - 5.00 pm, Friday 8.00 am - 4.00 pm with a one-hour lunch break.

Experience/Skills and Qualifications
Hazardous Area
- Hazardous Area (e.g. ATEX) Experience Is Preferred.
- Ideal candidates will have demonstrable competency, e.g. CompEx 01-04.
Electrical
- A qualified or approved electrician would make an ideal candidate.
- Those previously having held technical roles within the industry and attained relevant qualifications would also make ideal candidates.

Technical
- Experience in a manufacturing, installation, service or repair environment.
- Strong Practical Skills And Experience.

Main Duties
Main responsibilities to include (but not limited to):
Responsibilities
Enclosure Assembly
- Assemble hazardous area certified enclosures as part of manufacturer-approved build partnerships.
- Operate machinery and tooling (e.g., CNC machine, hydraulic punch, engraving & printing tools, hand tools) to complete enclosure builds.
- Ensure assembly work is completed efficiently and meets agreed delivery schedules.
- Maintain and safely operate all tools and equipment required for enclosure assembly.
- Monitor stock of enclosure components and consumables to maintain suitable levels for production demand.
- Accurately manage write-offs and non-conforming products.
Cable & Sub-Assembly
- Prepare and assemble cables to required specifications.
- Assemble hazardous area and industrial IEC60309 pin and sleeve devices (plugs & couplers).
- Carry out mechanical and electrical assembly of hazardous area (ATEX) products using hand tools.
- Conduct electrical safety testing and functional testing of finished products.
- Perform inspection, fault-finding, and rework where required.

Inspection Support
- Support the warehouse team with inspection of custom-made hazardous area products from 3rd party vendors, e.g. ATEX panels.
Health, Safety & Quality
- Participate actively in health and safety practices, ensuring compliance with company and legal requirements.
- Contribute to creating and maintaining safe working practices and risk assessments for workshop tasks.
- Perform all tasks in compliance with company Health, Safety & Quality systems.
Other Duties
- Support the business by completing workshop-related ad hoc duties as required.
- Assist with internal transport of goods using company vehicles when necessary.
Training
Training will be provided on all aspects of the role (to include but not limited to):
- In conjunction with manufacturers for job tasks including: CNC Machine Operation & Maintenance. Manufacturer specific training for enclosure assembly, gland assembly and connector assembly.
- Informal information training sessions from manufacturers, e.g. lunch and learn and regularly provided on all product lines.
- Full training on Kerridge Commercial sales system to enable management of quotations, sales orders and works orders.
- Other 3rd party training needed for the job role will be provided as required: Further COMPEX modules, COMPEX Re-certification, Manufacturer specific training for enclosure assembly, gland assembly and connector assembly.
- Support for further education goals relating to the job role can be provided. Details etc., to be discussed and agreed at the appropriate time.
