We are looking for two experienced electrical professionals to join us as an Electrical Assessor within our Training team.
This role will focus primarily on supporting practising electricians through the Experienced Worker Assessment (EWA) route. You will plan, conduct and document high-quality assessments, helping candidates demonstrate their occupational competence and progress towards recognised qualifications.
Working closely with the EWA Programme Coordinator, you will support candidates throughout their assessment journey, from reviewing portfolios and workplace evidence to conducting observations, professional discussions and knowledge checks.
You will also have the opportunity to assess across a wider range of electrical qualifications and programmes, which may include Inspection and Testing, Safe Isolation, Solar PV and Battery Storage.
What you will be doing
- Plan and deliver fair, valid and reliable assessments for experienced electricians.
- Conduct workplace observations, professional discussions, knowledge checks and portfolio reviews.
- Carry out assessments at employer premises, operational sites and training centres.
- Provide candidates with clear, constructive feedback, guidance and action plans.
- Work closely with the EWA Programme Coordinator to monitor candidate progress and support timely completion.
- Maintain accurate digital assessment records in line with awarding organisation, quality and data protection requirements.
- Contribute to internal quality assurance, standardisation and sampling activity.
- Support the development and improvement of assessment materials, marking guidance, evidence templates and candidate resources.
- Deliver assessments across other electrical qualifications and programmes in response to business needs.
- Help ensure that assessment rigs, tools and test equipment are operated and maintained safely.
- Work collaboratively with employers and clients to coordinate assessment activity while protecting assessment integrity.
- Maintain your occupational competence and participate in relevant continuing professional development.
- Identify practical improvements to assessment processes, resources and delivery methods.
- Represent Certsure professionally at industry events, networking opportunities and professional forums.

What we are looking for
Essential
- A recognised Level 3 electrical qualification, apprenticeship or core competence qualification listed in the EAS Qualifications Guide.
- Significant hands-on experience within the electrical industry.
- Strong knowledge of current electrical regulations, industry standards and recognised good practice.
- Experience assessing, mentoring or supporting electricians and making sound, evidence-based judgements.
- Experience evaluating vocational skills, knowledge, behaviours and workplace competence.
- An assessor qualification such as D32, D33, A1 or TAQA, or a willingness to work towards one.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear and accurate assessment records.
- Confidence using digital systems for record-keeping, virtual assessments and online meetings.
- A practical understanding of health and safety requirements relating to electrical assessment activity, tools and test equipment.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with programme coordinators, quality teams and colleagues across the organisation.
- A proactive and flexible approach to changing candidate, customer and business needs.
- A commitment to continuous improvement, professional development and creating a positive candidate experience.
- A full driving licence and the ability to travel nationally.
Desirable
- A teaching qualification, such as a PGCE or Certificate in Education.
- A quality assurance qualification, such as IQA or V1, or a willingness to work towards one.
- Experience preparing candidates for, or administering, End-Point Assessments.
- Experience and specialist knowledge of low-carbon technologies, particularly Solar PV, energy storage or electric vehicle charging installations.
About the role
As the role is remote and field-based, regular national travel will be required. This will include attendance at Certsure training centres, employer premises and candidate workplaces, with occasional overnight stays depending on business needs.
