About the Company
We are partnering with a highly respected, globally recognised independent MEP engineering consultancy known for delivering innovative and sustainable design solutions. Operating at the forefront of the industry, they specialise in highly complex, mission-critical, and large-scale technical projects.
Due to continued strategic growth, they are seeking an Electrical-biased Associate Director to join their senior leadership team.
The Role
As an Associate Director, you will play a pivotal role in both technical delivery and commercial success of major projects.
You will act as a key focal point for clients, driving design excellence while mentoring and leading a dedicated team of electrical engineers. This is a highly visible role requiring a balance of:
- Robust technical knowledge
- Commercial acumen
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership: Take ownership of large-scale, complex technical engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring delivery meets exceptional quality standards.

Client Management: Act as the principal client-facing representative, building and nurturing strong relationships, leading design meetings, and managing stakeholder expectations.

Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of electrical engineers, fostering a culture of high performance, continuous learning, and technical excellence.

Design & Delivery: Oversee electrical design strategies, coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams, and ensure rigorous QA/QC compliance.

Commercial Awareness: Assist in resource planning, fee proposals, and identifying new business opportunities to support the consultancy’s growth trajectory.
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Expertise
- Extensive background in Electrical Building Services design.

Sector Experience
- Proven experience working on Data Centre projects is highly desirable.
- Alternatively, candidates must possess a strong portfolio of leading large, complex technical projects, such as:
- Mission-critical facilities
- Healthcare
- Pharmaceutical
- Commercial
- Advanced technology infrastructures
Leadership
- Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire engineering teams and manage project resources.
Communication
- Exceptional client-facing skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is strongly preferred.
