Contract: 4 on 4 off (Days & Nights) Salary: £54,000 + Benefits Location: Avonmouth
About the Role
Are you an electrically biased Maintenance Engineer seeking a long-term position within a stable, well-invested manufacturing environment?
We are empowering a leading production site that continues to make significant equipment and infrastructure upgrades. They are searching for a skilled electrical engineer to expand their established shift engineering team.
The facility has undergone major upgrades—particularly around controls and automation systems—with ongoing projects and improvements planned.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll work on-site as part of the shift engineering team, maintaining planned and reactive repair work across all production facilities. This includes:
- Equipment & Systems Coverage:
- Conveyors and material handling systems
- Mixers, blenders, motors, drives, control panels, and 3-phase systems
- Steam, boilers, and compressed air systems
- Pumps, valves, and utility equipment
- Automated production and processing machinery

Electrical Focus
- Fault finding and maintenance on 3-phase systems
- Upkeep and installation of panels, relays, contactors, drives, and inverter/VSDs
- Electrical maintenance and installation
- Reading electrical drawings and schematics
- Basic PLC fault diagnostics
Mechanical Focus
- Maintenance of bearings, chains, gearboxes, and conveyors
- Work on pumps, valves, and pipework
- Pneumatics and general mechanical maintenance
- Welding & fabrication repairs helpful
Essential and Desired Qualifications
What They’re Looking For
- Electrically biased Maintenance background (apprentice-trained or time-served)
- Experience in manufacturing, production, process, or heavy industry
- Comfortable working alone within a shift team
- Practical, hands-on and proactive approach
