Role Overview:
We are looking for a knowledgeable, experienced, and proactive Electrical Compliance officer to oversee electrical safety, inspection, and regulatory compliance across our boiler and renewable energy installations, including heat pumps, solar PV, battery storage, and hybrid systems. The successful candidate will ensure that all electrical work—whether part of a gas or low-carbon technology installation—is compliant with current regulations (e.g. BS 7671, NICEIC, MCS standards, Part P). You will play a key role in safeguarding quality, safety, and legal accountability across domestic projects.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all electrical installations related to boilers, ASHPs, solar PV, EV chargers, and battery storage systems meet UK regulations and industry standards.
- Lead on electrical inspections, testing, and sign-offs, including issuing certification and ensuring appropriate use of MCS/NICEIC/NAPIT certifications.
- Maintain compliance with BS 7671 (18th Edition), IET Codes of Practice, Part P of the Building Regs, and relevant health & safety laws.
- Support MCS accreditation compliance (particularly for solar PV, heat pumps, and battery storage).
- Develop and implement internal electrical compliance procedures, technical guidance, and audit frameworks for operatives and subcontractors.
- Monitor updates to electrical and renewables legislation, ensuring timely policy adaptation and installer training.
- Liaise with external auditors, accreditation bodies (e.g. NICEIC, NAPIT, MCS, TrustMark), and DNOs for grid notifications and sign-offs.
- Deliver toolbox talks, technical training, and support continuous professional development of the team.
- Provide expert guidance and support to internal teams on all matters related to electrical compliance.
- Conduct internal audits and compliance reviews, identifying risks and driving continuous improvement.
- Manage training, competence, and certification records for relevant personnel.
- Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Driven to deliver a quality service and good customer outcome.

- Be a supportive team player and detail-oriented.
- Computer literate.
- Any other duties which may be required from time to time by the Management Team and Board of Directors, in the course of your employment with Zuno.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Installations (or equivalent).
- City & Guilds 2382 – 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- City & Guilds 2391-52 – Inspection and Testing.
- BPEC Installation and Maintenance of Small Scale Solar Photovoltaic Solutions (desirable).
- BPEC Electrical Energy Storage Systems (desirable).
- MCS knowledge and/or registration experience (particularly solar PV and heat pumps).
- Experience working in or overseeing boiler controls, smart thermostats, and renewable system wiring.
- Strong understanding of Part P, DNO grid connection processes, and export limitation devices.
