Job Title: Electrical Contracts Manager
Locations: Office Based, Near East Midlands Airport
Based At: Head Office – Lockington Hall
Accountable to: Managing Director
Reporting To: Operations Director
Statement of Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager/Director, you will be responsible for managing a team of engineers and associated electrical contracts and projects, ensuring all works are delivered to client satisfaction, on time, within budget, and in line with compliance and company standards.
You will oversee commercial electrical compliance and service contracts across sectors including schools, offices, industrial sites, warehouses, public buildings, and hospitals.
Tasks you may be required to undertake (dependent on competency)
Main Duties
- Manage and lead a team of field-based engineers.
- Ensure each job is completed within desired timeframes and company profit expectations.
- Deliver works in line with customer expectations, SLA’s and KPI’s.
- Provide engineers with all necessary documentation, parts, equipment and tools.
- Implement and maintain a right-first-time approach to works delivery.
- Train, mentor and upskill engineers where required.
- Maintain strong communication with engineers and customers at all times.
- Monitor engineer performance, quality, and productivity.
- Conduct site visits, surveys, and client meetings.
- Manage labour allocation, materials, and contract requirements.
- Identify and implement improvements to contract efficiency and performance.
- Ensure all works meet required quality and compliance standards.
- Carry out surveys to support estimating.
- Report on completed works and escalate issues where required.

Technical & Compliance Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and problem-solving to engineers.
- Ensure compliance with BS 7671, Electricity at Work Regulations and Codes of Practice.
- Support delivery of EICRs, emergency lighting, thermal imaging and remedial works.
Administration
- Undertake qualified supervisor duties in line with NICEIC requirements ensuring compliance certification and accurate reporting of all electrical works as required.
- Provide engineers with supporting documentation.
- Respond to client emails/requests within 24 hours and aim to resolve within 72 hours.
- Ensure CRM system is fully updated with relevant job information.
- Ensure smooth workflow transitions across all job stages.
- Perform ad-hoc duties as required.
- Manage workload effectively to meet customer expectations.
Customer Service
- Maintain proactive, dynamic and professional communication with clients.
- Provide flexible and helpful service to maintain high customer satisfaction.
- Liaise with scheduling teams and internal staff at all levels.
- Identify and prevent potential customer dissatisfaction issues.

Operational Performance
- Manage engineer performance and report to Operations Director.
- Monitor and improve output, quality and productivity.
- Ensure all processes and procedures are followed.
- Maintain accurate records and reporting.
People & Leadership
- Support HR processes including performance management and disciplinary matters.
- Provide leadership, guidance and development opportunities for engineers.
Health & Safety
All employees must comply with Health and Safety legislation and take reasonable care during work activities.
Miscellaneous
All employees are required to comply with employment legislation and codes of good practice.
In accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, and other supplementary legislation, all employees are required to take reasonable care to avoid injury during their work and co-operate with Norwood Electrical (UK) Ltd and others in meeting statutory requirements.
