Technical Assurance Manager – Government Programme Delivery (MEP Engineering)
About the Role
Mace combines construction expertise with consultancy to unlock potential in every person or project and redefine the boundaries of ambition. Our values shape the way we consult and help define the individuals we aim to bring into our organisation.
In this role, you will be responsible for the design of electrical systems at the concept stage while ensuring alignment with business, statutory, legal, and contractual requirements for government programmes. This includes overseeing Technical Assurance Management to guarantee that design principles remain intact from contractor uptake through to completed design and construction phases.
Key areas of influence include assisting clients through tender processes, condition surveys, and handover. Successful candidates must have a passion for building services, a proactive problem-solving attitude, and an ability to deliver successful, well-engineered projects. Collaboration across government and public frameworks will require expertise in formulating key operational and embodied carbon strategies while guiding projects as a client technical advisor.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
