EPLAN Electrical Design Engineer
Poole, Dorset (Hybrid)
£50,000 - £52,000 + Bonus + Benefits
The Role
EPLAN Electrical Design Engineer
A growing engineering company delivering control systems, instrumentation, and automation solutions is looking for an EPLAN Electrical Design Engineer to support expanding project demand.
This role is ideal for an engineer who wants to lead EPLAN development and standardisation, while working on varied control panel and electrical design projects across energy, renewables, and industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical design using EPLAN P8 (schematics, layouts, terminal plans)
- Control panel design and system layouts
- Producing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and GA drawings
- Supporting automation and control system projects
- Developing and maintaining EPLAN libraries, macros, and standards
- Driving standardisation of EPLAN across the company / group
- Supporting hardware design and electrical project delivery

Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer
- Strong working knowledge of EPLAN P8 (essential)
- Background in control panel design / industrial automation / electrical systems
- Experience producing schematic diagrams and panel layouts
- Knowledge of PLC systems, instrumentation, or industrial networks (beneficial)
- Ability to improve design processes, templates, and engineering standards
Salary & Benefits
- £50,000 salary
- Bonus (approx. £5,000)
