Electrical Design Engineer
Electrical Engineer, Senior or Principal
Location: Manchester (Hybrid)
About the Role
At a multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy based in Manchester—part of a broader national practice—we’re seeking a capable and ambitious Electrical Engineer at either Senior or Principal level. This opportunity offers:

- Ownership throughout the project life cycle, including concept, strategy, and completion—not just detailed design

Your role will include everything from defining the brief and designing to budget, to managing schemes of up to £20m.

Level/Experience
This is not set in a fixed mould—tell us where you’re at, and they’ll adapt:
- Senior:
- ≥2 years experience in building-services electrical design
- Ready to take on bigger projects and grow your CV
- Working towards chartership is a urtential indicator

- Principal:
- Leading end-to-end schemes while transitioning to management and client-facing responsibilities
- Either already chartered (or near-regulation)
Background & Skills
Match the big role or shift the game:
- Consultancy heritage preferred but contractor / Design & Build (D&B) experience is a bonus if the candidate is impact-driven early-stage
- Annotation mastery:
- System design (e.g., MBS Chorus, electronic systems)
- Lighting appropriations (preferably Relux or Dialux)
- Trunking assessments (with ElecoM or Amtech preference)
- Revit is a commercial advantage, but not hard-and-fast seating material
