Are you an Electrical Design Engineer with building services experience looking to take the next step in your career? If so, we may have the perfect opportunity for you. We are working with a well-established and forward-thinking building services consultancy to recruit an Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing London office.

Location: London
Salary: £50,000 - £80,000 depending on experience
Job Type: Full-time | Permanent

This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative consultancy working on a diverse portfolio of projects across the healthcare, education, commercial and refurbishment sectors. You'll be part of an experienced team delivering innovative and sustainable building services solutions from concept through to completion.

The role:

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for producing high-quality electrical building services designs across a range of exciting projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Producing electrical designs from concept through to detailed design (RIBA Stages 1–4)
  • Designing lighting, small power and power distribution systems
  • Preparing electrical layouts, schematics and technical drawings
  • Reviewing architectural and client drawings
  • Liaising with clients, architects and multidisciplinary design teams
  • Carrying out electrical calculations using industry-standard software
  • Assisting with project delivery to agreed timescales and budgets
  • Supporting senior engineers on larger and more complex projects
  • Contributing to sustainable and Net Zero building designs

What we're looking for:

We're keen to speak with candidates who have experience within building services or MEP Consultancy environments.

  • Previous Electrical Building Services design experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Experience producing electrical designs for commercial buildings
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Revit Amtech, Elec Calc or similar electrical calculation software
  • Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Working towards Chartership isn't essential
