Senior Electrical Engineer – Building Services (Contract)
Location: Enfield, North London
Contract: 4–6 Months
Rate: Up to £40 per hour LTD
Start Date: ASAP
The Opportunity
We are looking for an Electrical Building Services Engineer / Senior Electrical Engineer to support the delivery of a live, high-end residential project in Enfield.
The project involves the conversion of a Grade II Listed building into 14 high-end apartments and is now moving through a critical stage of design and construction.
This role would suit an engineer who has recently stepped into a Senior position, or an experienced Electrical Engineer ready to take on greater responsibility. You will be working closely with the wider design and project team, reviewing existing information, developing and updating designs, and providing hands-on technical support from site.
This is a full-time contract position with an initial 4–6 months of work available.
The Role
You will be involved in the ongoing electrical design and technical delivery of the project, with responsibilities including:
- Producing and developing electrical building services designs
- Reviewing existing electrical designs and identifying required changes
- Updating electrical schematics and technical design information
- Carrying out site surveys and technical checks
- Coordinating electrical services with mechanical and architectural designs
- Responding to technical queries and resolving design issues
- Supporting the site and project teams throughout installation
- Attending design, coordination and project meetings
- Reviewing installation against design intent and highlighting potential issues
- Updating designs and documentation as the project progresses

What We're Looking For
The successful engineer should have:
- Electrical Building Services design experience
- Experience working on building or construction projects
- Good knowledge of electrical systems, schematics and technical design
- Experience reviewing and updating existing designs
- The ability to carry out site surveys and translate findings into design changes
- A good understanding of MEP coordination
- Confidence working directly with project teams, contractors and other engineering disciplines
- The ability to work autonomously and manage their own workload

Previous experience working on residential, refurbishment or listed building projects would be beneficial but is not essential.
This role is particularly well suited to an early-stage Senior Electrical Engineer or an experienced Electrical Engineer looking for the next step in responsibility.
Working Pattern
The role will be predominantly site-based in Enfield, working directly alongside the project and delivery teams.
Applicants must be comfortable working from site and being actively involved in the day-to-day technical delivery of the project.
Rate & Contract
- Up to £40 per hour LTD
- Full-time contract
- Initial 4–6 month assignment
- Starting ASAP
