Electrical Design Engineer

Experienced Electrical Design Engineer – Oaklands Global

Oaklands Global are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a growing engineering team working on the design and integration of complex electrical systems across advanced engineering platforms.

This is a systems-level engineering role focused on ensuring electrical subsystems operate as one fully integrated solution. You’ll be responsible for the design, integration, and validation of electrical architectures, working across multidisciplinary teams to ensure electrical systems are safe, compliant, and fully functional throughout the product lifecycle.

About the Role

This is not a PCB or electronic circuit design position. We're looking for engineers with experience integrating complete electrical systems, producing wiring documentation, and supporting system-level verification and validation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and review electrical wiring diagrams, interconnection schematics, and system layouts
  • Define and maintain system-level electrical architectures and integration strategies
  • Integrate electrical subsystems (including power distribution, signal routing, and data communication interfaces)
  • Produce high-quality engineering documentation supporting electrical integration activities
  • Collaborate with Mechanical, Structural, Avionics, and Systems Engineering teams throughout the design lifecycle
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve electrical integration issues across complex engineering platforms
  • Translate system requirements into practical electrical integration solutions
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical insight into system architecture decisions
  • Support electrical system testing, validation, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities
  • Maintain configuration control and design assurance documentation in line with engineering processes

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
